As the graphic designer for Concordia University’s VAV (Visual Arts Visuels) Gallery, a student-run exhibition space, I created the posters for each of their monthly exhibitions. The gallery was looking for a visual aesthetic that focused on strong typography, clean lines, and geometric shapes, while communicating their commitment to exhibiting work from students of all identities and levels of experience.

Rather than focusing on themed shows, the VAV decided to instead assign a number to the majority of their exhibitions. This presented me with a number of creative freedoms, yet the challenge was to create a coherent identity while having each poster be unique without any specific curatorial prompts. I based each poster off of a simple template that kept the VAV logo consistent while giving myself space to play with typography and other strong graphic elements. 

Adobe Illustrator was used to create all graphics.




The posters were additionally formatted as Facebook event cover photos.
